Roger Edward Clarke graduated from the University of Queensland and finished BVSc in 1964. Dr Clarke has made a very significant contribution to the profession at State, National and International levels. He has been an active member of the Australian Veterinary Association and its Divisions and Special Interest Groups since 1964. He has served on numerous committees, including periods as Secretary and as President of the Melbourne Metropolitan Practitioners' Branch, as President of the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association, and as National President of the Australian Veterinary Association. Internationally, Dr Clarke is a member of many veterinary associations. He has been Australian national representative to the World Small Animal Veterinary Association since 1980, Convener of their Committee on Companion Animal Welfare since 1994 and Convener of Continuing Education in Asia and the Pacific since 1996. In 2002, he was awarded the Association's Waltham Award for Service to the Profession for his work in continuing education. In recognition of his substantial contribution to veterinary science in Australia and Asia , Dr Roger Clarke is a very worthy recipient of the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Science (honoris causa). |

Claudio Brovida graduated, cum laude, in 1974 at the Veterinary School of Turin, Italy.
Since 1976 he developed his profession in small animal practice, with particular interest in internal medicine/nephrology-urology. Actually he is the Director of the ANUBI Companion Animals Hospital in Moncalieri , near Turin , Italy .
He published articles on national and international journals and spoke in national and international meetings.
He has been involved in many activities related to our profession, the most important are:

Dr. Burrows is a Professor of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Florida , College of Veterinary Medicine . His specialty is the study of canine and feline gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disease. His research has focused on canine gastrointestinal motility in health and disease, and on the relationship between diet and gastrointestinal disease. Dr. Umesh Karkare, graduated from Bombay Veterinary College in 1984, Post graduated in 1986 in Preventive Medicine and Veterinary Public Health, thereafter worked as Research Assistant and then Assistant Professor in the Bombay Veterinary College till 1991. He had simultaneously established his clinic; this sees predominantly companion animals in one of the effluent suburb of Mumbai. He has Published 8 full length papers in the field of Vety. Public Health. Dr. Umesh Karkare involved in the Pet food revolution in India for last 14 years, and was instrumental in the first import of Pet food to India and thereafter worked with Special interest in Clinical Nutrition in Pet Animals. Dr. Umesh Karkare received a scholarship from the North American Veterinary Conference in 2006 to participate in a hands-on training program on Basic and Advance Ultrasound and in Emergency at NAVC in Orlando (Florida, USA). Also recipient of Scholarship by International Veterinary Emergency & Critical care Society (IVECCS) and participated in Basic & Advanced Ultrasound Workshop in New Orleans in 2007. Dr. Umesh worked as a visiting veterinarian at the University of Florida (Gainesville) State College, University of Pennsylvania and at Animal Medical Center, New York. He graduated University of Tokyo in 1978, and was awarded PhD in 1983 for his work on the clinicopathological and virologic studies of feline leukemia.
He worked as a research associate in Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo, from 1983 to 1989. During the period, he worked on the molecular
biological analysis of leukemia and immunodeficiency in cats and non-human primates. From 1989 to 1990, he worked on the molecular pathogenesis of
lymphoid malignancies associated with integration of feline leukemia virus in cats at Beatson Institute in Glasgow, Scotland. He worked as Associate
Professor from 1990 to 1998, and then as Professor from 1998 to present, in the Department of Veterinary Internal Medicine, University of Tokyo. In 1998,
he worked as Visiting Professor in Clinical Oncology Section (Dr. Mac Ewen) in University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is President of Asian Society of
Veterinary Internal Medicine (AISVIM) and President of Japanese College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (JCVIM). His interests include many aspects
of veterinary oncology, hematology, and immunology, and current research includes advanced diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to canine lymphoma. |

Prof. Chung-Tien Lin is a graduate of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine at Taiwan University in the year 1991. His studies moved on and he gained his PHD in Veterinary ophthalmology at the University of Cambridge in the year 1998. A year following his PHD achievement, he became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at National Taiwan University. And in the years 2002 to 2007, he became an Associate Professor. His research abilities have also led him in receiving an award for “Research Paper Prize” both in 2007 and 2008. His career growth continued and at present he is holding three positions at the National Taiwan University. He is a Professor in the Division of Veterinary Opthalmology, the Head in the Opthalmology Service and the Chief in the Section of Surgery. This successful Doctor has also more than 50 peer-reviewed journals and 2 published books.
