Biographical Information
Roger Edward Clarke graduated from the University of Queensland and finished BVSc in 1964. Dr Clarke has made a very significant contribution to the profession at State, National and International levels. He has been an active member of the Australian Veterinary Association and its Divisions and Special Interest Groups since 1964. He has served on numerous committees, including periods as Secretary and as President of the Melbourne Metropolitan Practitioners’ Branch, as President of the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association, and as National President of the Australian Veterinary Association.He has been Australian national representative to the World Small Animal Veterinary Association since 1980, Convener of their Committee on Companion Animal Welfare since 1994 and Convener of Continuing Education in Asia and the Pacific since 1996. In 2002, he was awarded the Association’s Waltham Award for Service to the Profession for his work in continuing education. In recognition of his substantial contribution to veterinary science in Australia and Asia , Dr. Roger Clarke is a very worthy recipient of the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Science (honoris causa).
